Congress Insulted Ambedkar: Kishan
Hyderabad: Union minister for mines G. Kishan Reddy lauded the role of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said he remains in the hearts of people. He said Jan Sangh leaders had fought the Emergency imposed by former prime minister Indira Gandhi alongside Jayaprakash Narayan.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters he said, “Vajpayee’s life is a role model for everyone. People would come from every nook and corner just to hear him. He merged the Jan Sangh party into the Janata Party in 1977 under Jayaprakash Narayan. The Congress that imposed the Emergency does not have the moral right to talk of democracy. BJP does not need a certificate from the Congress on democracy and Dr B.R. Ambedkar. It was the Congress which did not cooperate with him and insulted him.”
Congress, he reminded, had given Bharat Ratna to their leaders like Indira Gandhi but did not give it to the architect of the Constitution, Ambedkar. They did not even install his portrait in the central hall of Parliament.
Recalling the contribution of Vajpayee in giving him his due, he said, “The government identified five places to which he was associated and categorised them as Panchatheerthas. The Congress’ family politics, corruption and autocratic attitude will be taken to every doorstep for exposing it. Unlike the former PM who by speaking in Hindi made the country proud, the present leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is criticising the nation on foreign soil. He is belittling constitutional institutions.”
He recalled that despite doubts the golden quadrilateral project was executed by spending Rs.77,000 crore to connect all states. Following his footsteps the present PM Modi is connecting all the district headquarters with the national highways.
Kishan Reddy paid tributes to the statue of Ambedkar at Lower Tank Bund and held a rally to the party headquarters in Nampally from there.
