Devout flock to Anjanadri Hill for Hanuma Maala Visarjan
The annual two-day event, marked by chants and prayers, showcased both spiritual fervor and meticulous planning, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience
Koppal: Anjanadri Hill in Koppal district, revered as the birthplace of Lord Anjaneya, came alive with devotion and celebration as thousands of devotees gathered for the grand Hanuma Maala Visarjan program. The annual two-day event, marked by chants and prayers, showcased both spiritual fervor and meticulous planning, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience.
The Anjaneya Swamy temple and its surroundings were adorned with stunning floral decorations, while the hill itself was illuminated with vibrant lights, creating a mesmerizing spectacle at night.
On Friday, the concluding day, devotees chanting slogans formed long queues to seek darshan of the deity after a holy bath in the morning. Pilgrims from across Karnataka and neighboring states arrived in large numbers—many walking barefoot in groups, while others traveled by vehicles from distant locations.
To ensure smooth proceedings, the Koppal district administration had made elaborate arrangements. A dedicated prasadam distribution area was set up in the Vedapathashala premises, where devotees were served prasadam, including rice, sambar, tomato chutney, and other dishes. Multiple counters prevented overcrowding and facilitated orderly distribution, which earned praise from devotees for the well-organized setup.
The police department had designated parking areas in advance, which helped avoid traffic congestion. District officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, conducted periodic inspections to ensure the seamless functioning of various committees involved in the program. Medical teams, police, revenue officials, and other department staff executed their responsibilities effectively, ensuring a hassle-free experience for devotees.
Rest stops with tents were arranged along walking routes to assist devotees making the pilgrimage on foot. Some villages along the route also offered food and refreshments to the pilgrims. Municipal staff ensured cleanliness at all locations.
