Elderly parents complain about their CI son to DGP

Hyderabad: The parents of Rachakonda commissionerate circle inspector Nageswar Reddy complained to Director-General of Police (DGP) Dr Jitender here on Tuesday, requesting him to protect them from their elder son, who has been threatening them for an additional share in their property.
The parents Raghunadha Reddy and Bojamma from Venkataipally village at Killaghanpuram mandal in Wanaparthy district came to the DGP’s office on Tuesday and lodged a complaint against their son.
The couple informed the DGP that they owned 30 acres and 23 guntas land in their native place and wanted to give 15 acres to their elder son, 11 to their younger son Yadaiah, a police constable, and the rest between their two daughters. However, Nageswar Reddy has been harassing them demanding additional share in the land, saying he had two sons. When they tried to explain the situation to him, Nageswar Reddy allegedly tried to beat Bojamma with a chair.
As elders in their community advised the CI to mend his ways, he relented for a few days but later resumed pestering his parents. The elderly couple then went to the DGP.
Bojamma broke down while speaking to media persons at the DGP office in Lakdikapul, saying that Nageswar Reddy had also been threatening the villagers and community leaders that he would book the cases against them if they became involved in his family matters. “We humbly request the DGP to come to our rescue and render justice to us,” said Bojamma who was weeping inconsolably, adding that their younger son had tried to die by suicide as he was unable to bear his brother’s harassment.
