Fans raise 'Jr NTR CM' slogans at NTR Ghat

Hyderabad: Followers of Junior NTR shouted slogans saying that he should become Chief Minister, when he and his brother Kalyan Ram went to the NTR Ghat alongside Hussainsagar to pay tribute on the 101 birth anniversary of legendary actor and former chief minister N.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday.

Shouting “CM.. CM.. Junior NTR CM,” several of his fans surged forward to meet the actor him but his security guards stopped them. Junior NTR and Kalyan Ram did not respond and left the premises within a few minutes even as the fans continued to raise slogans.

Later, film actor and TD MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna and his sister Daggubati Purandeswari, AP BJP president, and other family members paid tribute at NTR Ghat. They recalled services rendered by Rama Rao to the film industry and to the state when he was Chief Minister and Telugu Desam chief.
