Focus on speedy justice: Cyberabad CP Avinash Mohanty
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty chaired a crime review meeting at the Shamshabad DCP office here on Wednesday with a special focus on assessing ongoing investigations and enhancing crime prevention strategies in the zone.
He reviewed the status of all cases, with special attention given to resolving long-pending investigations and expediting case progress. Emphasis was placed on improving coordination with judicial officers to secure charge sheet numbers for ongoing trials and addressing Section 174 cases promptly.
The Commissioner asked officers to prioritize cases involving crimes against women and children, such as kidnappings and missing persons. Strategies were discussed to tackle cybercrimes, rowdy activities, property-related offenses, forgery, robbery, and cases under the NDPS Act.
He stressed the importance of swift action in all cases, particularly those involving gang abductions, murders, snatching, and fraud. Officials were urged to invoke the PD Act against repeat offenders and ensure timely arrests to avoid delays in case handling.
Public awareness campaigns were highlighted as crucial for combating cybercrimes and preventing digital fraud. The Commissioner encouraged the installation of CCTV cameras, emphasizing their role in evidence collection and securing convictions.
The performance of the Special Operations Team (SOT) and Crime Control Station (CCS) was reviewed, with instructions to resolve Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) and take stringent action against habitual offenders.
The meeting concluded with directives to strengthen coordination between police officials and judicial officers, enhance the enforcement of the POCSO Act, and improve conviction rates across all cases.
