Four Dead in Outer Ring Road Crash Near Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Four persons including two children died when two cars collided on the Outer Ring Road near Pedda Golconda at 4.45 pm on Thursday evening, Shamshabad police said.

One of the vehicles had five friends going from Karimnagar going to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, and the other, a transporter, had 12 family members and two children going from the Swarnagiri temple towards Wanaparthy district.

“While overtaking, the vehicle going to the airport hit another car and rammed into the passenger carrier. The transporter, under to the impact, flipped thrice and came to a halt,” said Shamshabad ACP K.S. Rao. Four people, including the driver Taj, died in the accident. The other deceased, were a woman, a 13-year old and a two-month old baby, all belonging to the same family.

“We all from Wanaparthy’s Atmakur village. We went to Yadagirigutta last night and stayed there. In the morning, we went to the Swarnagiri temple and were returning home when the incident happened,” said a person in the ill-fated vehicle.

All the injured are being treated in a nearby hospital, and police said they are investigating the case.
