GHMC Prepares for Ganesha Festival With Extensive Plans

 Hyderabad: GHMC officials said they were making extensive arrangements for the upcoming Ganesha festival. On Friday, the authorities inspected the arrangements at various ponds and baby ponds in the city for the festival, which will start on September 7 and conclude on September 17 after the main immersion.

GHMC officials visited ponds and baby ponds in Kukatpally, Pragatinagar, IDL and surrounding areas and inspected the immersion arrangements and made suggestions to prevent untoward incidents. They ensured the setting up of parking lots to ensure the ease of movement of vehicles and made arrangement to remove the immersed idols in the traditional way.

The officials also took measures to provide uninterrupted supply of electricity, drinking water and lighting at the ponds. They are also working for setting up of mobile toilets, cranes, health camps and help desks. The officials were ordered to complete the works of all facilities and arrangements within a week and ensure the convenience to the devotees.
