Girl escapes after parents force her into prostitution in Hyderabad

Hyderabad:A 14-year-old Class X student escaped from her house after being physically and mentally tortured by her parents who tried to force her into prostitution. Madhuranagar police said the accused are taken into custody and produced before the Magistrate for judicial remand on Sunday. The incident came to light after the girl took shelter at her classmate’s house and narrated the abuse to her headmaster at the school.

On Saturday, the victim’s mother, who is into prostitution, received a customer at her house and forced the girl to have sex with him. When the girl resisted, she and her husband beat the girl up and told her that they would get more money if she too cooperated with them.

Fearing further abuse, she took shelter at a classmate’s house, whose parents took her to the headmaster.

The headmaster alerted the Child Helpline line formed a special team recorded the victim's statement and approached Madhuranagar police. “We along with the Child Helpline rescued the victim and shifted her to a shelter home and arrested her parents,” Madhuranagar SHO G. Srinivas Varma told Deccan Chronicle.

Police booked cases for forcing a minor into prostitution, physically assaulting, in 96 of BNS section 11, 72 and 12 of Pocso Act and section 78, 81 of Juvenile Justice.
