Good governance is ensured in accordance with people’s wishes: CM Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy here on Monday said that the good governance was ensured in accordance with the people's aspirations.
“Today’s governance is not like that of the emperors of the middle ages. Good governance is being ensured in accordance with the aspirations of the people,” he said while speaking in the winter session of State Assembly commenced today. He said for six decades, people have expressed their desire for a separate State in various forms.
Many people were martyred in the struggle for achieving Telangana. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi took a noble decision announcing separate Statehood for Telangana on December 9, 2009, and that the Telangana process was being initiated.
“That is why December 9 has great significance. The image of Telangana thalli has not been officially announced yet and the aspirations of the people have not been respected. When the people’s government came to power, we put the letters TG, which the youth had written on their hearts during the movement, on our vehicles,” he explained.
“We declared the song “Jaya Jaya He Telangana”, which inspired us during the movement, as our State anthem. It is unfortunate that the form of Telangana talli has not been officially adopted till now,” he said.
“When a question was raised whether we should call Telangana goddess and Telangana thalli and whether it should be adorned with diamonds, bracelets, and crowns? Should you be like a mother? Intellectuals have suggested that one should be a reflection of mother.”
“Today, we are going to honor the Telangana talli of the people so that when we see Telangana Talli, we will be reminded of our own mother. The entire Telangana community of four crore people is going to unite and celebrate the festivities in a festive atmosphere today,” Revanth Reddy said. Unfortunately, some people didn't like it. It is wrong to think that the idea of Telangana society is the idea ofone person and one party.
“Let’s give time to Telangana society on this occasion today. I appeal to the opposition parties not to give room for controversies today. Let’s celebrate the birth anniversary of Telangana thalli every year on December 9. The goddess blesses us and the mother gives love. Let’s celebrate the birth of that mother in a grand manner,” he added.
