Grand finale draws curtains to Kalasagaram
Hyderabad: The 10-day-long Kalasagaram’s annual festival of music, dance and drama came to a grand finale at Keyes High School on Monday with a voco-flute jugalbandi by Abhishek Raghuram and Pravin Godkhindi.
Before introducing his Hindustani counterparts, Abhishek elaborated Bairavi raga for the evergreen Swarajathi of Shyama Sastry with only Sahitya. Praveen Godkhindi and Roopak Kallurkar joined him and both presented Hamsadhwani raga and followed by the popular Vatapi Ganapathim of Muthuswami Deekshithar.
Abhishek’s variations in Pallavi was a delight to packed audiences with Kalpana swaras flowing beautifully from both Abhishek and Praveen which was followed by a melodious jog with a Hindustani Krithi from Praveen Godkhindi. .
After a brief elaboration of Mohanakalyani raga, Abhishek presented a Hindustani line in Mohana Kalyani followed by a Thillana.
A mind-blowing Hemavathi Ragam and thanam followed for Kanthimathi of Muthuswami Dhikshithar. The swaras' variations were captivating from both Abhishek and Praveen which kept the audience's interest intact. Patri Satish and Roopak Kallurkar produced the best Thaniyavarthanam of the series. Violinist Karthik Nagaraj lent valuable support. A memorable concert for the rasikas of the twin cities.
