Health Minister Assures Job Security for Contract ANMs in Telangana
Hyderabad: Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha assured job security for contract auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs), emphasising that their services would not be terminated even after regular employees were appointed.
Speaking with contract ANMs here on Friday, Rajanarsimha explained that the issue was currently under the court's jurisdiction. He confirmed that the written examination for regular ANM posts, scheduled for December 29, will proceed as planned and highlighted that the provision of a 30-mark weightage for contract ANMs takes into consideration, the services they have provided.
Responding to demands for additional posts, the minister announced the inclusion of 323 more positions, raising the total to 2,254 under the current notification. He assured that those unable to secure regular appointments would retain their contract positions until further notice.
Regarding retirement benefits, the minister promised to consult with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for a favourable resolution.
