Heavy Inflow of Floodwater Recorded in Lakes, Tanks and Reservoirs in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The three projects on the Manair River were filling up, thanks to water release from the Yallampalli project as well as inflows from catchment areas and local streams, even as officials recovered the bodies of two persons.

In Peddapalli district, the NDRF team of the SCCL found the body of Cheppala Pavan of Mirjampet in the Nakkala vagu at Kothapalli. He had been washed away while returning from work on a two-wheeler. Rescuers also retrieved the body of fisherman Goskula Kumar of Kunaram village of Kalva Srirampur mandal from the Pedda Cheruvu.

The Mid Manair Dam (MMD) in Rajanna Sircilla district was receiving 33,805 cusecs of water from Mula Vagu, Manair River and Ganji Vagu, as well as 6,300 cusecs through Nandi Medaram and Gayatri pump houses of Kaleshwaram project.

The MMD holds 15.83 tmc ft of water against its capacity of 27.54 tmc ft of water.

The Lower Manair Dam (LMD) in Karimnagar had 14.83 tmc ft of water against its capacity of 24 tmc ft. The Upper Manair Dam (UMD) was full at 31 feet.
