Heavy Rains: Traffic Diverted on NH 65

Hyderabad: A traffic advisory was issued based on the inputs from the superintendent of police in Suryapet and commissioner of police in Khammam, which are the worst affected areas following rains in the last two days.

The National Highway-65 stretch from Chillakallu to Nandigama of Andhra Pradesh is flooded and must be avoided.

The Paleru river is overflowing onto the road in Nayakangudem on the route from Suryapet to Khammam. A bridge also collapsed at Ramapuram X Road, after crossing Kodad town in Suryapet district.

Additional commissioner police P. Viswa Prasad said people are requested to postpone their journeys.

In case of emergency, travellers are advised to take the following routes.

Hyderabad to Vijayawada: Hyderabad-Choutuppal-Chityal-Narketpally-Nalgonda-Miryalguda-Piduguralla-Guntur-Vijayawada.

Hyderabad to Khammam: Hyderabad-Choutuppal-Chityal-Nakrekal-Arvapally-Thungathurthy-Maddirala - Marripeta Bungalow- Khammam.

In case of any emergency, the travellers are requested to call the traffic helpline of Hyderabad Traffic Police 9010203626.
