Heavy Traffic Jam on Hyderabad- Vijayawada Highway as Sankranthi Commuters Head Home

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway experienced heavy congestion on Saturday morning as commuters headed to their hometowns for Sankranthi. As a result, vehicles were moving slowly from Abdullapurmet to Kothagudem. A significant traffic jam formed at the Pantangi Toll Plaza in Choutuppal, where staff have opened 10 toll booths for vehicles heading towards Andhra Pradesh and 6 gates for those traveling towards Hyderabad.
Additionally, a traffic jam has developed at the Choutuppal junction due to ongoing underpass construction work. The congestion is expected to worsen later today (Saturday) and on Sunday. In response, the police have advised motorists to consider alternative routes.
