Hyderabad: Five persons were sentenced to five days imprisonment for creating public nuisance and misbehaving with an on-duty police personnel.

According to Kulsumpura police, Ganesh, a constable posted at Tappachabutra, who is a complainant in the case, stated he was patrolling in the early hours of Monday when he noticed five persons gathered suspiciously near Annapurnamma temple at Jafferguda in Karwan area that falls under Kulsumpura police station limits.

After Ganesh questioned them, they started an argument with him. A spat escalated and it took a nasty turn. This led to heated arguments which led to police taking the persons into custody. Police booked an e-petty case and produced the accused before XII Special Judicial Magistrate Nampally court.

The court sentenced the accused to five days of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50 to each.

“We booked a e-petty case under Section 70(b) of the CP Act and Section 221 of the BNS. The convicts who are identified as Pradeep Yadav, 36, Y. Madhu Babu, 24, Shashidar Galams, 24, M. Srinivas, 39, and Harish, 30, were remanded in Chanchalguda prison,” inspector Sunil Korani said.
