Hyderabad: Auto driver to minors' rescue

HYDERABAD: An alert auto driver on Wednesday morning saved three school children from a 35-year-old man suspected to have intended to kidnap them. A case was registered under Section 137 (2) of BNS.
According to Gachibowli CI Anjaneyulu, the man has been identified as - Kiran, 35 - a private employee, and the auto driver - Sambaiyya.
Kiran took an auto with three minors at around 9am, said the auto driver, who was asked to drop them to a school in Lingampally. When the school was nearby, Kiran allegedly asked the auto driver to change the route.
Sambaiyya, suspecting something was wrong, approached a constable nearby, informing him that something was fishy, “As soon as the officer started questioning the man, he started crying and fell on his knees, touching the constable’s feet. He then started saying ‘I have made a mistake, please forgive me’, Sambaiyya said.
Seeing this, the constable shifted all the four, including the auto driver to the Chandanagar police station. After the parents were informed of this, around the same time, the mother of the minors registered a complaint with the Gachibowli police.
Subsequently, Kiran, who was trying to kidnap the kids, was arrested, Gachibowli Inspector confirmed.
