Hyderabad: Continuing the crackdown on illegal constructions, officials demolished seven unauthorised villas in Manikonda's Chitrapuri Colony on Tuesday.

Town planning authorities revealed that while permission had been granted for 220 villas, seven additional villas were constructed without proper approval. The approved structures were meant to be ground-plus-one-floor villas, but the violators had built up to ground-plus-three floors, breaching local regulations.

Officials also handed out notices to owners of villas which were constructed illegally. The demolitions were carried out using JCB machinery under police protection to prevent any unrest. Tensions prevailed as members of the society confronted the officials, leading to heated arguments.

Authorities urged builders not to construct any structures without permissions, and warned of serious consequences if they found any illegal constructions.
