HYDERABAD: In a joint operation, Masab Tank police and West Zone Task Force arrested a resident of Banjara Hills Road No. 12 after illegal narcotics — 30 grams of cocaine and 6 grams MDMA — were found in his house.

The seized drugs are worth Rs 8.22 lakh in the illegal market. The arrest was made on Tuesday night.
Accused, Jhawar Kishan Gopal, runs a plastic goods business. During interrogation, Gopal confessed that he procured the drugs from a Nigerian cocaine supplier based in Mumbai.
Gopal wanted to sell the drugs to affluent New Years Eve revellers, DCP (task force) Y.V.S. Sudheendra said.
Gopal said mounting debt following losses in online betting drove him to commit the offence.
Gopal said his friends Anil, Varun, and Pramod encouraged him to deal in drugs.
