Hyderabad police notify rules for New Year celebrations
Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand has issued guidelines for New Year celebrations to the managements of hotels rated three-star and above, clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants.
The establishments planning to conduct ticketed events up to 1 am (midnight) should apply for permission at least 15 days prior. They should install CCTV cameras with recording at all the entry, exit points and parking places.
There should be adequate security guards for traffic management and provide security for the establishments. No obscenity and nudity is allowed in the performances. Firearms are prohibited and there should not be any display or use of fireworks.
The outdoor sound systems (including public address systems, loudspeakers, DJ systems, DJ sound mixers, sound amplifiers and other high sound-generating equipment) must be stopped at 10 pm. Sound systems are permitted beyond 10 pm only in closed indoor premises such as community halls, banquet halls and function halls up to 1 am, and the noise level should not exceed 45 decibels.
Passes/tickets/coupons should not be issued in excess of capacity. Minors should not be permitted in programmes organised for couples and in pubs and bars. Drugs, narcotics and psychotropic substances should be consumed.
Liquor should not be served beyond the hours permitted by the excise department. Managements must make arrangements to provide drivers/cabs to customers who are in a drunken state to reach their destinations safely.
