Hyderabad: A protest erupted at Osmania University’s New Godavari Hostel on Friday morning after students were reportedly served watery dal and substandard rotis for breakfast. Students gathered on the OU road near the Arts College to voice their anger at 8 am.

“Imagine starting your day with such a meal after paying hostel fees. The dal was like water, and the rotis were totally inedible,” said P. Prakash, a postgraduate student. The situation brought longstanding complaints about food quality at the hostel to the fore.
Chief warden Koremela Srinivas arrived at the site around 10 am and assured the residents that steps would be taken to address their concerns. “We deeply regret the inconvenience and will ensure better quality food going forward,” he told the students.
Although the protest subsided after his assurance, the residents insisted on the need for permanent solutions. “We can’t keep going through this again and again. Enough is enough,” another student told Deccan Chronicle. The incident has reignited concerns over the living conditions in hostels at the university, demanding greater accountability from the administratio
