Hyderabad temples decked up for today’s festive celebrations
Hyderabad: All roads led to temples, Durga pandals and venues hosting Dandia and Garba dances as the Dasara celebrations, as well as the Durga Pujo celebrations, moved towards their climax on Saturday. Ravan dahan organised at Exhibition Ground, Nizam College and Ameerpet will be prime attractions.
Navami was celebrated on Friday with pujas performed for vehicles, equipment and tools.
The celebrations organised by the Hyderabad Bangalee Samity at Lower Tank Bund was themed around ‘Nari Shakti’ marking woman empowerment. According to Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee, an organiser, the Mata installed at Keyes High School, shows the Goddess “riding on a lion with ten arms carrying weapons while maintaining a meditative smile on her beautiful face.”
The Dandiya night at Navkar Navaratri Utsav, according to Kavitha Jain, “attracted the highest number of families for Garba and Dandiya.”
Chilkur Balaji Temple chief priest Rangarajan said a procession would be taken out n Saturday. Birla Mandir had full attendance of devotees, said the chief priest Lakshminarasimha Charlu.
