Hyderabad: A truck loaded with Rs.2 crore worth drugs that was heading towards the city was intercepted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at the Madgi inter-state RTO checkpost at Sangareddy district.

The NCB officials found that the truck was carrying marijuana in specially arranged large hidden shelves along the chassis from the cabin. The haul weighed seized 840 kg.

The driver, who had noticed that the officials were conducting inspections, fled the scene leaving the truck behind. The NCB officials drove the truck to the Chiragpally police station.

NCB officials strongly suspected that the consignment procured from the Andhra-Odisha border and was being transported to Maharashtra.
