Hyderabad: The UGC-NET December 2024 examinations concluded on Monday. The exams, which began on January 3, were initially scheduled to run until January 16. However, a batch of exams was postponed and held on Monday.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) rescheduled the exams originally planned for January 15 due to the nationwide Sankranti festival. These exams were then moved to January 21 and 27. The National Testing Agency (NTA) ensured the examination process ran smoothly, with thorough security checks in place.

The content of the exam, however, elicited mixed reactions from candidates. While some found questions in language-based subjects like Sanskrit relatively easy, others, particularly those taking Mass Communication and Law, described their papers as “challenging but fair.”

"General Paper tested our conceptual understanding, but the subject paper was extremely time-consuming. It was a good paper, but really challenging," said Preetam Krishna, a candidate who appeared for the Law examination.

Technical issues were minimal, though a few candidates reported slight delays when logging into the online test system. "The staff was helpful and ensured we did not lose any time due to technical glitches," noted Rohit Mehta, another candidate. Results for the exam are expected to be announced in February 2025.
