HYDRAA resumes demolitions, razes BRS leader’s building on road
Hyderabad: After a brief hiatus, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) resumed its enforcement activities by demolishing an illegal structure built by Nagaram Municipality chairman Koukutla Chandra Reddy on Wednesday.
The BRS politician had constructed an illegal structure along the 40-foot-wide road in East Hanuman Nagar, Keesara Mandal, encroaching on the main roadway that connects several colonies.
Following the removal of the encroachment, residents from five nearby colonies welcomed the demolition, HYDRAA said in a press release issued on Wednesday.
HYDRAA also urged the Nagaram municipality to construct a new road, and officials of the urban local body (ULB) assured that the stretch will be restored promptly. The illegal walls built by the BRS politician were demolished using a heavy vehicle. "An enquiry was conducted for two days, and only after establishing that the road was encroached, the illegal structure was demolished," said a HYDRAA official.
