Hyderabad: HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Thursday said the agency would take legal action against a social media page for spreading fake news. The handle had reported that a man had died of a heart attack due to fear of HYDRAA demolitions. The handle has since been taken down from the post.

However, media reports had said that the man Ravinder, a man living in Ramanthapur’s Lakshminarayana Colony, had died of a heart attack on Thursday fearing his house in the Musi riverbed would be demolished. The reports did not mention HYDRAA.

“HYDRAA has nothing to do with the marking of houses or any demolition in the Musi river,” Ranganath said.
