I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju Urges JNAFAU Students to Join Create in India

Hyderabad:Sanjay Jaju, secretary, Union information and broadcasting ministry, urged the students of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) to participate in the Create in India Season-1, as a part of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES). The event will be organised from February 5 to 9.

Jaju said “WAVES is the first global summit which will cover the entire field of media and entertainment industry” and noted “We consume a lot of content, but we also create a lot of content.”

The Season 1 of Create in India will host 25 competitions across a wide variety of multimedia topics such as animation, gaming, comics, AR/XR/VR, generative AI, broadcasting, radio, advertising, social media, film, music and emerging technology.

In animation, there would be an anime challenge and an animation filmmakers competition. In the gaming section would be game jam, esports tournament, ‘City quest: Shades of Bharat’ and handheld educational video game development competitions.

In the Comics division, a comics creator championship will be held, while an XR creator hackathon and virtual influencer creator contest will be organised in Augmented Reality (AR) Extended Reality (XR) and Virtual Reality (VR) section.

AI film-making and AI art installation Challenges will be organised in the generative AI category, while WAVES promo video challenge and truth tell hackathon, a challenge to fight deep fakes, will be organised in the broadcasting section.

A community radio content challenge will be organised in the radio department along with a ‘Ad Spend Optimiser’ in the advertising section, and explorer and reel making competitions in the social media category.

Film poster making, trailer making and young filmmakers challenges are being organised in the film category, while Battle of the Bands, Symphony of India and theme music Competition will be held in the music category and ‘India: A Bird's Eye View’ and ‘Anti-Piracy Challenge’ in the emerging technology section.
