ADILABAD: The survey process for Indiramma houses has been expedited across villages and towns in the former Adilabad district. Collectors, revenue officials, and panchayat representatives are personally overseeing the surveys and ensuring that the collected data is uploaded to a specialised application.

Survey teams are gathering detailed information from applicants who submitted their requests for Indiramma houses during the Praja Palana programme. They assess whether applicants have previously received housing under welfare schemes, land ownership for construction, the number of married couples residing in their current homes, the duration of their stay in rented homes, and specific land details if owned. Officials have been instructed to complete the surveys by the end of the month.

In villages, village secretaries and NREGS staff are actively involved in the survey, while in municipalities, bill collectors, ward-level officials, and junior assistants of municipalities take the lead. Members of the Indiramma committees are also participating in the field surveys alongside government-appointed personnel.

Assistant collector Shraddha Shukla and Komaram Bheem Asifabad collector Venkatesh Dhotre are supervising the surveys in Adarshnagar, Kagaznagar. They have enquired about the progress of data uploads to the Indiramma Houses’ special application. Collector Dhotre said that each survey officer is responsible for surveying 500 houses and ensuring timely data entry. Staff members have been tasked with surveying a minimum of 25 houses daily to complete the survey within 20 days.

Sources indicate that approximately 80 lakh applications were received statewide during the Praja Palana for Indiramma houses. Former MPP of Utnoor, Pandra Jayawanth Rao, suggested prioritising surveys for families without their own homes who are living in rented houses to streamline the process. He emphasised the need for transparent surveying conducted by experienced government staff rather than involving Indiramma committee members.

Adilabad collector Rajarshi Shaw recently inspected the surveys in wards 44 and 49 of Adilabad town. He urged the staff to meticulously upload applicant information to the designated app to avoid errors.
