Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu here on Monday took strong exception to the remarks made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that INDIA Bloc was doing “Mujra” dance to appease Muslim vote bank.

In an election rally organized on Saturday in Bihar, Modi said the INDIA bloc can perform “Mujra” before their vote bank if they want. Responding to Modi’s accusations, Sridhar Babu termed the former’s remarks as unfortunate and no Prime Minister during their previous tenures made such remarks.

As Prime Minister, Modi was representing 130 crore people in the country, the Minster said, adding that the Constitution has granted freedom to follow any religion and belittling anyone was completely against the spirit of the Constitution.

As a Prime Minister, Modi should be like a father for the people in the country but it is not advisable on his part to make unnecessary remarks against Muslims. All those, who were born in India, are citizens of the country and showing any discrimination among certain people, were unacceptable, he said.

The Minister said all sections of people were living happily in the country as the Congress was protecting secularism.
