RPF Seizes Courier With Six Kg of Dry Ganja

Hyderabad: Personnel from the Secunderabad RPF arrested an interstate ganja peddler and recovered six kg of dry ganja worth Rs 1.50 lakh from his possession on Monday. The accused caught at the Secunderabad railway station, was transporting dry ganja from Barhampur in Odisha to Mumbai in Maharashtra via Secunderabad. The two main suppliers — Joy from Maharashtra and Ali Khan of Odisha — were absconding. The RPF arrested Khodabox Shaik (26), a native of Odisha, and seized the contraband from his possession. The accused revealed that he had procured the contraband from suppliers Joy and Ali and was paid Rs 10,000 for transporting the drug consignment to Dadar in Mumbai (Maharashtra). “The accused was arrested from platform number 2 of the Secunderabad railway station when he was about to board Konark Express,” S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U) said. The accused with the seized property was produced before the magistrate and later sent to judicial remand.
