Jagga Reddy Seeks Shah’s Resignation
Sangareddy: TPCC working president T. Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy has demanded the resignation of Union home minister Amit Shah for his controversial remarks about Dr B.R. Ambedkar. Speaking at a Congress rally in Sangareddy on Saturday, Jagga Reddy accused the BJP of disrespecting Ambedkar, who drafted the Constitution that empowers leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
The Congress rally, led by Jagga Reddy and Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation chairperson Nirmala Jagga Reddy, included garlanding Ambedkar’s statue and marching through the town’s main roads.
Jagga Reddy criticised Amit Shah’s comment that chanting Ambedkar’s name is “fashionable” and should be replaced by chanting the name of God. He alleged that the BJP aims to scrap the Constitution, which ensures equal rights, and promotes a dictatorial ideology.
He further accused the BJP of attempting to erase the contributions of figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru from history while targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for championing the values of the Constitution and Ambedkar’s legacy.
