Karimnagar: Family fetes 21st day of 4 puppies at home
Rapelli Vinod and Lavanya have cared for their female Shih Tzu, Daisy, for the past one and a half years
KARIMNAGAR: A family celebrated the 21st day of four puppies born to Shih Tzu, a breed renowned for its affectionate nature towards children, on Sunday at Subash Nagar in Metpally town of Jagtial district.
Rapelli Vinod and Lavanya have cared for their female Shih Tzu, Daisy, for the past one and a half years. Since their son brought Daisy home from Hyderabad, the family has embraced her as one of their own and protecting her from stray dogs. Daisy has become an integral part of the family.
The arrival of Daisy’s four puppies made the family happy. To honour the new additions, the couple decided to host a special celebration akin to a Barasala, marking the naming ceremony for the newborns.
In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Rapelli Vinod shared, “Our son brought Daisy from Hyderabad one and a half years ago. From that moment, we have treated her like a family member, ensuring she is safe and cherished.”
Lavanya took the lead in organising the event. She invited friends and neighbours, beautifully decorated the cradle, and adorned the puppies in new outfits, creating a festive atmosphere for the naming ceremony. The ceremony was a gathering where the puppies were placed in the cradle.
Among the four puppies, there is one male and three females. “We decided to give the puppies to other families after 45 days. Until then, my wife chose to name them after deities. The male puppy is named Narasimha Swamy, and the females are named Lakshmi-1, Lakshmi-2, and Lakshmi-3,” Vinod said.
Rajeshwar, a ward councillor, spoke to Deccan Chronicle about the event, mentioning that the family prepared a variety of delicious dishes to serve the guests. Guests who attended the function blessed the puppies.
