Kishan Highlights GHMC, Metro Water Works Fund Shortage
Hyderabad: State BJP president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the GHMC and the Metro Water Works had been struggling with a severe crunch of funds due to non-release of finance from the government which was earning 80 per cent of revenue from the city.
After chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISA) here to monitor the progress of Centrally sponsored schemes, Kishan Reddy said that non-availability of land for construction of buildings for anganwadi schools and hostels for students from the BC, SC and ST communities was the main problem in the city.
Expressing concern over growing slums in the city, Kishan Reddy said that the Centre had released funds for construction of residential schools for minorities. But, the progress of works is not satisfactory, he said
Kishan Reddy said that the sports department in the state is on the verge of closure due to non-release of funds from the state government. He asked the officials to work for transparent implementation of central schemes.
