Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the state government was establishing an industrial corridor in his Kodangal constituency to generate employment opportunities for youth and women. He clarified that the corridor would host only pollution-free industries to ensure minimal environmental impact and denied the Opposition parties' claims about setting up a Pharma City in the area.

A delegation of the Left parties, including CPI state secretary and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, met Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat on Saturday. They discussed the recent incidents at Lagcharla and submitted a representation addressing their concerns.
The CM told the delegation that only pollution-free industries would be set up in the industrial corridor and there was no truth in the Opposition’s claims that the land was being acquired to set up pharma companies.
Revanth said that the development of Kodangal, his home constituency, was his top priority. He stated, “As the MLA of Kodangal, the welfare of my people is my responsibility. Why would I take actions that harm my constituency?” He also mentioned that the government is considering enhancing compensation for land acquisition related to the project.
