Making All Health Schemes People-Friendly: Rajanarsimha
Hyderabad: Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha slammed the BRS for making a mockery of health schemes like Aarogyasri, Employee Health Scheme (EHS) and Journalists Health Scheme (JHS) during its rule.
Countering BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao's tweet on X regarding EHS, he called it a ‘cheap criticism’. He said that it was a shame that BRS, which had corrupted these schemes, was trying to justify them now. He announced that the Congress government was planning to implement EHS in a manner acceptable to both employees and pensioners.
"Without clearing hospital dues or revising package rates, BRS denied medical treatment to patients under Aarogyasri. Corporate hospitals disrespected employees and pensioners seeking treatment under EHS but the BRS government did nothing but watch," the minister said.
He highlighted the Congress government's achievements, stating, "Upon assuming office, we doubled the free treatment limit under Aarogyasri from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. We revised package rates in six months and introduced 163 new procedures under Aarogyasri. As per the demands of employees and pensioners, we are now implementing EHS in a way that satisfies them."
