Hyderabad: FIRs were lodged against five fake doctors for running unlicensed clinics in Vikarabad district of Dharur mandal after raids were conducted by the officials of Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) in the district in December 2024.

FIRs were registered against Azeez First Aid Clinic operated by Mir Ikshak Ali in Tandur Road area, Anil First Aid Centre run by Patti Anil Kumar in Main Road area, Vaishnavi Medical shop owned by Ashok Kumar in the main road area, Miya Mona First Aid Centre operated by Mohammad Azam and JS First Aid Centre run by P. Sunil.

TGMC vice-chairman Dr G. Srinivas said that these unqualified practitioners were not authorised to provide allopathic treatment and people must not take antibiotics and steroids prescribed by them. During inspections, it was detected they were giving antibiotic injections indiscriminately to treat piles. Hundreds of antibiotic injections administered to patients without any reason were found in their possession.

“A case will be registered against them under sections 34, and 54 of the NMC Act and a fine of up to 5 lakh will be slapped on them,” Dr. Srinivas said.

It was also found that antibiotics, steroids and other Schedule H drugs were being sold without a qualified doctor’s prescription and sans pharmacists in the medical stores attached to the fake doctors’ clinics. A complaint will be filed before the Drug Control Authority and the Pharmacy Council in this regard.
