Medicos demand arrest of top brass of pvt medical colleges in Hyderabad
Mallareddy, Chalmeda and MNR medical colleges accused of gross violations in admission process
Hyderabad: Medicos from several educational institutions demanded the immediate arrest of management personnel of Mallareddy, Chalmeda and MNR private medical colleges for allegedly blocking postgraduate medical seats and selling them at exorbitant rates.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had recently attached properties of these colleges following allegations of money laundering and fee irregularities.
“Attaching properties is not enough. The management must face criminal charges, and all fees collected for B-category and NRI seats should be thoroughly investigated,” said Amreen Unisa, a student leader.
She added that there must be a thorough investigation into the reported malpractices in nine other private medical colleges.
“Accountability must not be shifted to minor employees or unrelated individuals. It is the management that should face direct scrutiny,” said another student.
