Hyderabad: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Thursday took a serious note of the gang rape of a woman in Miyapur and asked Telangana Director-General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta to conduct a fair and time bound investigation into the incident.

In a letter to the DGP, the Commission asked him to send a detailed action taken report (ATR) in three days and added that the 26-year-old victim should be given compensation and free medical treatment. The NCW also posted a tweet condemning the incident.

According to Miyapur police, the real-estate company salesmen in Sun City - Sanga Reddy and Janardhan Reddy – picked up the victim from Sri Lakshmi Hostel, Miyapur on Sunday afternoon and proceeded to the site in Yadagirigutta.

After competition of meeting by 9 pm on the way they stopped their car at an under construction building stating that the car developed a problem and asked her if she would like to eat anything.

When she refused, Janardhan Reddy brought a cool drink and sweet and handed it over to her. After consuming it, she felt dizzy. Stating that she developed dizziness as she did not eat properly, Sanga Reddy and Janardhan Reddy undressed her and violated her till early July 1.

They then left her at the hostel in Miyapur and fled. Based on a complaint, the police booked a case and arrested the two accused persons.
