Nizamabad:The undivided districts of Nizamabad and Medak have been experiencing severe cold conditions over the past few days, with temperatures plummeting to single digits. The chilly weather has caused widespread discomfort, particularly affecting the elderly and children, as many struggle with cold-related health issues.

In Nyalkal of Sangareddy district, the temperature dropped to 9.9°C on Friday, the lowest in the region. Other areas also recorded unusually low temperatures, including 10.1°C in Dongli mandal of Kamareddy district, 12.0°C in Nizamabad South mandal, 12.1°C in Kondapaka of Siddipet district, and 12.4°C in Tekmal of Medak district.

The biting cold has led to reduced activity in public spaces such as bus stations, railway stations, and temples, which typically see heavy footfall during the morning hours. For days now, people have been reluctant to leave their homes, and even popular spots like the Government Polytechnic Ground in Nizamabad, frequented by hundreds of morning walkers, have been deserted.
