WARANGAL: The Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) established two unmanned electrical substations which will provide automatic services without the involvement of human power here in Hanamkonda on Wednesday.

The chairman and managing director of the TGNPDCL, Karnati Varun Reddy, launched the two unmanned electrical sub-stations, one at Nakkalagutta in Hanamkonda and the other at Azam Jahi Mills ground at Warangal.

Speaking on the occasion, Varun Reddy said the automatic substation will work with cutting edge technology and will be monitored and controlled from the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) centre from the corporate office at Nakkalagutta in Hanamkonda.

If any technical issue like tripping happens, then the SCADA system will immediately alert the technical team enabling them to respond quickly and minimize the interruptions time. In case of any breakdown, the SCADA centre will promptly inform the concerned assistant engineer who along with his team will undertake restoration works immediately thus saving time and ensuring improved services for consumers.

These automatic and unmanned electrical sub-stations will significantly reduce human error and will enhance safety. Apart from that real-time monitoring will provide accurate data, allowing for quick correction whenever needed. The sub-stations are also equipped with CCTV surveillance for additional oversight and divisional officers will continuously monitor operations.

The TGNPDCL is committed to embracing technology to provide consumers with more reliable and uninterrupted power supply services and is also planning to establish two more unmanned sub-stations in Hanamkonda and Warangal circles by September 30, he added.
