Organized Cricket Betting Racket Busted, 1 Held
Hyderabad: The central zone task force police busted an organized cricket betting racket with the arrest of a person at MJ market under Sultan Bazaar police station limits on Monday.
The arrested has been identified as Vikas Jain, a collection agent and resident of Wall Street apartment in MJ Market Road, according to police. Jain was working as a betting amount collection agent under main organizers from Goa and earning commission illegally. The betting was organized through an online betting app. The main organizers were found to be operating from Goa, by appointing respondent Jain as their collection agent in Hyderabad by using Whatsapp group hydvikasgroup.
On credible information, the central zone task force team along with Sultan Bazaar police busted the racket and apprehended Jain at Wall Street Apartment. As many as Rs.8 lakh in cash, a mobile phone, a bike and a counting machine was seized from the possession of the arrested person.
