Adilabad: Students appearing for the SSC Telugu exam at ZPHS for Boys in Mancherial faced a two-hour delay when officials brought in the Hindi question paper.

According to officials, staff mistakenly collected Hindi question papers from a local police station rather than the Telugu papers. They realised the error just before distributing the papers, causing the exam to begin more than two hours hour late. The test, originally scheduled to start at 9.30 am, started at around 11.30 am. Officials provided snacks to students during the delay.

District education officer (DEO) Yadaiah and district collector Kumar Deepak were informed of the incident. Collector Deepak visited the centre to investigate and confirmed that the Hindi question paper bundle had not been opened.

Following the inquiry, collector Deepak suspended chief superintendent Safdar Ali Khan and department officer N.R. Padmaja for negligence. In a statement, the collector explained that the examination ran smoothly from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm. Officials maintain that the oversight was administrative and that all necessary steps were taken to resolve the issue promptly.
