Hyderabad: Stressing the need to quickly resolve the issues of AP Reorganisation Act, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday asked party MPs to focus on addressing the matter in the Winter Session of Parliament, which begins on Monday.

Meanwhile, Reddy is visiting Delhi on Monday to attend a marriage function.

He is likely to meet AICC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and invite them for the programme of Telangana Talli statue unveiling at the Secretariat, scheduled for December 9, to mark one year of the Congress in power. Reddy will also meet Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and greet her for a resounding win in the Wayanad Lok Sabha byelection.
Party MPs said they would raise their voice seeking speedy resolution of pending issues.

P. Balram Naik (Mahabubabad) said that he would raise the Polavaram backwater issue as it poses a major threat to hundreds of villages in Bhadradri district.

"I had discussions with the Bhadradri collector on Sunday and collected details. The Centre provides funds for Andhra Pradesh towards Polavaram project. We have already brought this issue before Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will again raise it in the Parliament" the Congress MP said.

The Chief Minister also focused on 12 demands for Telangana, including allotment of mines to Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) without auction, setting up of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad and revival of ITIR-Hyderabad project, among others.

Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka have already met the Prime Minister and submitted a representation on these issues some months back.
Reddy asked the MPs to fight for the revival of ITIR in Hyderabad to encourage growth of new IT companies and developers. The project, initially approved in 2010, has been stalled since 2014. The Congress MPs will also highlight the state reorganisation, including the establishment of a steel plant in Bayyaram and a coach factory in Kazipet.
With the Telangana government launching the Indiramma housing scheme for the poor people, the Congress MPs will seek sanction of 25 lakh houses for Telangana in the ensuing phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
