Pawan Kalyan offers prayers at Kondagattu

Karimnagar: AP Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan on Saturday visited famous Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple here at Kondagattu in Mallial mandal of the Jagtial district and offered special prayers to the presiding deity Lord Hanuman.

Pawan Kalyan visited the Kondagattu temple for the first time after winning the Assembly elections and assuming charge as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He is presently on a Varahi Ammavari Deeksha for 11 days.

Before the polls, Pawan Kalyan visited Kondagattu for special prayers for his campaign vehicle named ‘Varahi’ and started his election campaign.

On Saturday Jana Sena activists and followers of Pawan Kalyan turned up in huge numbers at Kondagattu and welcomed him with a huge garland. The police who provided tight security under the supervision of DSP Raghu Chander and CI Neelam Ravi found it difficult to control the crowd.

District collector B. Satya Prasad, superintendent of police Ashok and revenue divisional officer Madhusudan welcomed Pawan Kalyan while the temple priests gave him a warm welcome with Purnakumbam.

Pawan Kalyan spent around 30 minutes in the temple and offered prayers. Temple executive officer Chandrasekhar submitted a representation to Pawan Kalyan urging him to allot TTD funds for the construction of a Deeksha Mandapam and a building with 100 rooms for the convenience of devotees on the temple premises in Kondagattu.

Assistant executive officer Srinivas Sharma, Upadhyayula Chandrasekhar, Uma Maheshwar, main priests Jitendra Prasad, Chiranjeevi and Kapinder were present at the event.
