Person Arrested in Chandrayangutta for Stealing Property Worth Rs 1.45 Lakh
Hyderabad: The Kalapathar police on Friday arrested one Mohammed Noorullah Hussain of Chandrayangutta for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing property worth Rs 1.45 lakh on November 14. According to the complainant Ghousiya Begum, she was asleep in the bedroom when her brother returned home and found three almirahs open and gold and cash, among other items, missing. On Friday, police arrested Hussain at Tadbun crossroads. Police said he had found the door of the house open and entered it. It was found that he was previously involved in three other theft cases.
Man Arrested for Stealing Valuables from Four Houses, Property Worth Rs 10 Lakh Recovered
Hyderabad: The Karkhana police on Saturday said that they had arrested Yerpula Galva Kalyan Kumar, 30, of Bowenpally for allegedly breaking into four houses, and stealing gold and silver ornaments, cash and a mobile phone on November 5. The property worth `10 lakh was recovered, police said. He allegedly broke into three locked houses in a building in Srinivasnagar Colony, Alwal, at about 4.20 pm on October 29, and another building on November 5, at around 1.45 pm, at Old Vasavinagar of Karkhana. Man Dies in Shamshabad Flyover Accident
Hyderabad: A 51-year-old two-wheeler rider died after his speeding vehicle, on the wrong side of the road, rammed into a car on the Shamshabad flyover within the RGIA police station limits at about 7.30 pm on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Darshan, 51, a government employee.
“Darshan had taken the wrong route,” an RGIA police official said. The CCTV camera at the spot was dysfunctional, police said. The victim was not found to be drunk, police said.
There were four occupants in the car that was heading towards Shadnagar. All of them were safe, police said.
Cybercrime Unit Arrests Two Maharashtra Men for Rs 1.61 Lakh Online Job Scam
Hyderabad: The City Cybercrime Unit (CCU) on Saturday arrested two persons who duped a victim of Rs 1.61 lakh after offering part-time jobs online. The accused, Krishna Baban Rao Pawar and Ramakant Jivan Dhanawate of natives of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, were said to be involved in 140 cases nationwide including nine in the state.
Police said the two were under police surveillance and arrested when they came to city to open a new current account. They were staying at a house in Gachibowli, CCU DCP Dara Kavitha said.
The victim, a city resident, approached the CCU police and said that she had received a message over a social messaging app where the accused offered her a part-time job. Following their instructions, she registered herself on their website and began paying small smaller amounts as demanded by the scamsters who cited various fees.
They also paid her small amounts to encourage her to continue. In all, the duo collected `1,61,378 and froze her account when she asked for her money.
Police seized laptops, mobile phones, debit cards, cheque books, rubber stamps and other material from the accused and produced them before a court for judicial remand.
Hyderabad Task Force Raids Water Plants Selling Contaminated Bottled Water, Three Arrested
Hyderabad: The south-east zone task force, GHMC food safety officer of Circle 8 and revenue personnel raided three water plants for selling drinking water in bottles containing names of well-known brands, and arrested three persons.
The accused were identified as Mohmmad Sajjad, Syed Siraj and Salam bin Naser un Naqeeb. Water bottles worth `3,34,080 were recovered from their possession. Police said the water plants did not have BIS marking, trade and FSSAI licences. The water turned out to be possessing low TDS levels, which is harmful to human life.
Drunk Passenger Creates Panic at Shamshabad Airport with Fake Bomb Threat
Hyderabad: A drunk passenger who claimed to be carrying a bomb on a flight bound to Bangkok created a flutter at the Shamshabad airport, RGIA station house officer K. Balaraju said on Saturday.
Police said that before the aircraft took off, the accused, Sudkahar, 30, told another passenger that he had a bomb with him. The passenger reached out to the airline and airport authorities.
RGIA police and a bomb squad reached the spot and started checking the aircraft. After an hour, no bomb was recovered and it was later established that the man was bluffing.
For his claim, Sudhakar was deplaned and issued a notice. The aircraft proceeded to Bangkok after a delay.
