Hyderabad: The family of photographer Gyara Narsing was struggling to come to terms with the loss of his two sons, Dhanush and Lohit, who drowned along with three others at the Konda Pochammasagar in Gajwel.

Narsing and his wife Jayanti went to the Gajwel government hospital to identify the victims along with the family members of the three others. They returned with the bodies of their sons to their house in Indiranagar, Musheerabad, at about 10.30 am.

“Jayanti fainted when she saw police retrieving her sons’ bodies from the reservoir. She was taken to a private hospital. She refused to identify the bodies,” said her aunt M. Jayamma. “She is in trauma. She is unable to believe they are dead.”

Sources said Narsing had wound up his photo studio in Barkatpura and sold his house after suffering losses and moved into the family home. He got his daughter married and was training his sons to be photographers. The father and sons would accept photography assignments to earn money.

“We are hoping that the state government will provide financial aid to the victim’s family,” Jayamma said. The last rites of the victims were performed at the Golnaka crematorium late on Sunday night.
