Police Arrest Inter-state Vehicles Lifting Gang

Nalgonda: Nalgonda Town-I police on Monday arrested five persons of a gang from Andhra Pradesh for stealing 67 two-wheelers and seized the vehicles from their possession.

The arrested were identified as Thupakula Venkatesh, 30, 25-year-olds Gunji Ankamma, Kavuru Mettupally and Avula Venu, and Guvvala Shabarish, 24.

District police superintendent Chandana Deepthi said that gang members were stopped for questioning when they were moving in a suspicious manner at the Pangal bypass road. Upon being questioned, they confessed to stealing the bikes. The gang had stolen vehicles at Nalgonda, Thipparthy, Miryalaguda and Bhongir in Telangana state as well as at Piduguralla, Dachepally, Chilakaruripeta, Edlapadu and Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh.

Police said the gang members sold the stolen vehicles from Telangana in AP and vice versa.
