Police Bandobast Tightened in Hyderabad City for Today’s Counting
Hyderabad: In order to ensure a peaceful atmosphere around the city during and after the counting process on Tuesday, apart from clamping section 144 all around, authorities have bolstered security by deploying police personnel from the three commissionerates of Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad.
In Hyderabad, 18,500 police officers will be on duty, including 12,500 for law and order and traffic regulation, 6,000 home guards, special police officers and 1,252 recently recruited officers. Also on guard will be paramilitary forces, central armed forces, task force units, special operations teams and special branch personnel.
While 900 police personnel will oversee the counting process in Cyberabad, Rachakonda will see 1100 personnel maintaining law and order.
In addition to stringent surveillance and regular patrols in and around the counting centres, they have been instructed to promptly respond to any security-related incidents.
“We have collaborated with local community leaders and stakeholders to maintain peace during the counting period as they can be of immense help to us,” said special branch DCP Sai Sree.
Meanwhile, police have binded over rowdy sheeters and anti-social elements as part of precautionary measures.
The general public can contact respective police stations or dial 100 or a field officer if they come across any untoward incident or unlawful activities, said a DG rank officer.
