Hyderabad: Narayanguda police registered cases against B. Manohar Rao, former managing director of Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC), and Kamal Hotels Pvt. Ltd for allegedly violating rules in assigning Durgam Cheruvu eco-park works illegally.

N. Ramesh Nayak, assistant general manager of the corporation, stated that Manohar Rao, in connivance with Kamal Hotels and A.A. Avocations Pvt. Ltd, was involved in a criminal breach by resorting to cheating, making false documents and dishonestly transferring the Durgam Cheruvu Eco Park tender.

On June 20, 2018, a notification to lease out Durgam Cheruvu deck area was issued and tender bids were invited. Kamal Hotels Pvt. Ltd emerged the highest bidder. On February 28, 2019, the hotel executed an agreement with TGTDC through A.A. Avocations Pvt. Ltd, citing it as their subsidiary.

Nayak contended that the TGTDC tender could not be awarded to an organisation which had neither participated nor was it eligible to participate in the tender process.

In July, 2024, it was brought to the notice of the TGTDC that Rao, Kamal Hotels Pvt. Ltd and A.A. Avocations Pvt. Ltd had caused wrongful loss to the organisation for their own gains.
