ADILABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Friday urged officials to implement measures to benefit cotton and paddy farmers, accelerate paddy purchases, and announced that the state government is providing a ₹500 bonus for fine-quality paddy.

During his visit to a ginning factory in Bhainsa, Ponguleti enquired about cotton purchases, the moisture content in the cotton brought by farmers, and the prices farmers were receiving per quintal. He also inspected 2BHK houses and directed officials to distribute them to eligible beneficiaries after the completion of construction works.

Speaking to the media in Bhainsa, in Nirmal district, Ponguleti emphasised the need to secure government land boundaries to prevent encroachment and called for actions to protect forest and revenue lands. He warned that strict measures would be taken against those who illegally encroach on government property. Collector Abhilasha Abhinav, Congress leader Ramarao Patel, and regional development officers (RDOs) were present during the discussions.
