President Murmu’s 2-Day Visit to Hyd From Nov. 20
Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day visit to Hyderabad from November 21. Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari held a meeting with senior officials on Wednesday to coordinate and finalise arrangements across departments. She told the officials to make extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful visit.
The Chief Secretary instructed departments to adhere strictly to protocol, emphasising that the arrangements should meet the standards fitting a presidential visit. The CS directed the police department to establish an enhanced security framework, including a comprehensive traffic and bandobast plan, to ensure public safety and manage crowds effectively.
She instructed the fire department to deploy adequate firefighting resources and trained personnel at each venue. The health department was told to provide medical support, making doctors and auxiliary staff available throughout the visit. The roads and buildings department has been instructed to arrange necessary barricading, conduct road repairs and coordinate closely with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the police department to ensure that roads are well-prepared.
The municipal administration and urban development department have been instructed to ensure the cleanliness of the President’s accommodations and surrounding areas while the energy department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power at all locations on the President’s itinerary.
The coordination meeting included senior officials including DGP Dr Jitender, special chief secretary, home, Ravi Gupta, special chief secretary for R&B Vikas Raj, DG-fire services Y. Nagi Reddy, principal secretary to Governor B. Venkatesham, director of protocol S. Venkata Rao and special commissioner for I&PR S. Harish.
